Medicare signed into law

1966

First Medicare Supplement program starts

1977

First time United American earns A+ (Superior) Financial Strength Rating by A.M. Best Company

1982

Torchmark Corporation acquires United American Insurance Company.

1996

United American outgrows its Dallas office and moves to McKinney, Texas, where the holding company is headquartered.

2019

The holding company for United American changes its name from Torchmark Corporation to Globe Life, Inc.
